The Children of Saint Patrick’s Day

Having lived in New York City for quite awhile, I made it to The Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on Fifth Avenue often.  What I noticed each year was the sheer delight of children as the parade passed them by, and the beautiful moments as families shared time together.

These images have been taken over 11 years. The reactions are always the same. If only we could keep this childhood enthusiasm throughout our lives…

The city holds the parade on Saint Patrick’s Day every year, no matter what day of the week it falls and can be viewed along Fifth Avenue between 44th Street and 79th Street from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. So whether you make it this year or sometime in the future, you can always count on this annual tradition.

🍀Until next time.
